1. Who I am

Good Girls is the trading name of Jessica Farnham, a sole trader based in Kent, United Kingdom.

In these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean Jessica Farnham trading as Good Girls. "You" means the person booking or using my services.

2. About these terms

These terms apply when you book a mentoring session, buy access to an online course, or otherwise use www.goodgirlsbees.com. By booking or buying, you agree to them, so please read them before you pay.

I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the day you booked.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

3. What I provide

One-to-one online beekeeping mentoring, delivered over video call. Sessions last one hour unless we agree otherwise.

Mentoring is guidance and shared experience drawn from my own beekeeping. It is not a hive inspection, a veterinary service, or a substitute for advice from your national bee inspector or a qualified vet.

I will do my best to help you, but I cannot guarantee outcomes. Bees are living animals and colonies fail for reasons outside anybody's control. Decisions about your bees, your equipment and your apiary remain yours.

4. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to book.

5. Booking and payment

• Bookings are made through the booking system on my website.

• Prices are shown in pounds sterling. I am not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.

• Payment is taken in full at the time of booking, through my payment provider. I do not receive or store your card details.

• Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. If payment does not go through, the slot is not held.

6. Your right to cancel within 14 days

Because you are buying online, you normally have 14 days from the moment you book to cancel and get a full refund, without giving a reason.

If your session falls inside that 14-day window and you ask me to go ahead with it anyway, you are agreeing that the service starts before the cancellation period ends. Once the session has taken place, the right to cancel it no longer applies. If you cancel part-way through the period, I may charge a fair amount for what has already been delivered.

To use this right, email me at thehive@goodgirlsbees.com before your session. I will refund you to your original payment method within 14 days of being told.

7. Changing or cancelling a session

• More than 48 hours before your session: reschedule free of charge, or cancel for a full refund.

• Less than 48 hours before: I am not able to refund the session, because the slot is unlikely to be filled at that notice. I will usually try to move you if I possibly can, so please do ask.

• No-show: if you have not joined within 15 minutes of the start time and have not been in touch, the session counts as delivered and is not refundable.

• Running late: we will use whatever is left of the hour. I usually cannot run over, as another session may follow yours.

• If I cancel or move a session: I will give you as much notice as I can, and you can choose either a full refund or a new time that suits you.

8. How sessions run

• Sessions take place on Google Meet. You will need a device with a camera and a reasonable internet connection.

• I do not record sessions. Please do not record, stream or share them without my written permission.

• I keep brief notes between sessions so we can pick up where we left off. My Privacy Policy explains how I look after those.

• If the connection fails badly enough that we cannot carry on, we will reschedule the remaining time at no extra cost.

• I ask that we treat each other with courtesy. I may end a session and decline future bookings, without a refund, in the case of abusive behaviour.

9. Online course

When the online course is available:

• You are buying a personal, non-transferable licence to use the material yourself.

• Access is for you alone. Please do not share your login, download and redistribute the material, resell it, or reproduce it elsewhere.

• I may update or improve the content over time. If I have to withdraw it altogether, I will give you reasonable notice and a fair refund for the access you have not used.

• Any terms specific to the course will be set out at the point of purchase. Where you get immediate access to digital content, you will be asked to agree that your 14-day cancellation right ends once that access begins.

10. Intellectual property

Everything on this website and in my course material — text, photographs, videos, guides and quizzes — belongs to me unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to use it for your own beekeeping. Please do not copy it, republish it, sell it, or use it to teach commercially without my written permission.

11. Blog and free content

Blog posts and other free material are general information, not advice tailored to your hives. Use your own judgement when applying it.

12. Liability

I am responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

​

I am not responsible for:

• loss of bees, colonies, honey crop or equipment, or damage to your property, arising from decisions you make about your own beekeeping;

• business losses — these terms are written for consumers, so if you keep bees commercially, please contact me before booking;

• events outside my reasonable control.

​

Beekeeping carries real risks, including stings and allergic reactions, lifting, working at height, and the use of tools and smokers. You are responsible for your own safety, for any insurance you need, and for complying with any rules that apply where you keep your bees. If you or anyone near your apiary may be allergic to stings, please take medical advice.

Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Notifiable diseases

If we discuss something that appears to be a notifiable disease, such as American or European foulbrood, or an exotic pest, you are legally required to report it to the National Bee Unit. I will say so if I think that is what we are looking at, but the duty to report rests with you as the beekeeper.

14. Complaints

Please email me first at thehive@goodgirlsbees.com. I will reply within five working days and do my best to put things right.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there.
