1. Who we are
Good Girls is the trading name of Jessica Farnham, a sole trader based in Kent, United Kingdom, providing one-to-one online beekeeping mentoring.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Jessica Farnham is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This means I decide how and why your information is used, and I am responsible for looking after it.

2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use www.goodgirlsbees.com or book a mentoring session, why I collect it, what I do with it, and what rights you have over it.

When you book a mentoring session

Any information you choose to give me in the booking form, including questions about your bees or your setup
When you pay

Payment is handled by my payment provider. I receive confirmation that a payment has been made, along with the amount and a transaction reference. I do not receive or store your full card details.
When you contact me

Your name, email address and the content of your message
When you attend a session

Sessions take place over Google Meet. I do not record sessions. Google will process technical connection data as part of providing the service.

I may keep brief notes between sessions so I can pick up where we left off — for example, what stage your colony is at or what we agreed you would try next.
When you visit the website

My website is hosted by Wix, which collects standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and time spent on the site. See section 10 on cookies.
4. Why I collect it, and my legal basis
UK GDPR requires me to have a lawful basis for using your information.
Mine are:

I do not collect special category data (such as health or ethnicity), and I do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
5. Who I share it with
I do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
I use the following service providers, who process information on my behalf:

Wix.com Ltd — website hosting, booking system, and business email

Google (Google Meet) — video conferencing for sessions

Wix Payments / Stripe / PayPal]/ Apple Pay/ Google Pay/ Klana— payment processing

My accountant, if I use one — for tax and financial records
I may also disclose information where I am legally required to, for example to HMRC or in response to a lawful request.
6. International transfers
Some of these providers store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, they are required to protect it to a standard equivalent to UK law, using mechanisms such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements, addenda to EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy regulations. Wix and Google both operate under such arrangements.
7. How long I keep it

Booking and enquiry records: up to 2 years after our last contact

Session notes: up to 2 years after our last session, or sooner if you ask me to delete them

Financial records: 6 years after the end of the relevant tax year, as required by HMRC

Marketing consents, if introduced: until you withdraw consent
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Please note that I may need to keep certain financial records even if you ask for deletion, because I am legally required to.
9. Security
I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including access-controlled accounts, strong and unique passwords, two-factor authentication where available, and limiting the information I collect to what I actually need.
No system is completely secure, but I will notify you and the ICO where required if a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights.
10. Cookies
My website uses cookies. Some are strictly necessary for the site and booking system to work. Others are used for analytics and to understand how the site is used.
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the banner when you first visit, and you can change your choice or clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
11. Children
My services are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
